When the nation seems to be looking to the government for an action plan during the pandemic, God’s word has already written a plan out for those who believe in Jeremiah 29. In the mist of their exile in Babylon, God sends them a few words of hope, a glimpse of what He’s willing to do for His people.
It seems that each state in our nation has declared lockdowns but look what God tells us:
“This is GOD ’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” GOD ’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you”— GOD ’s Decree—“bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile. You can count on it. “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.” Jeremiah 29:10-14 MSG
Could we possibly be in our moment of exile!? Our lives as we know has come to a halt. Everything we are used to having seems to be of limited access, the things were used to experiencing are no more! In the letter He let’s us know, this will not end a day short of when He desires. However, there’s still a GOOD plan for our futures, He’s going to restore all that seems lost.
It’s time to get serious in our time of exile, in our time of isolation. Let’s pray so intensely that we send the wicked of the land fleeing for cover, not us fleeing! God says, “when we get serious, He’ll turn things around.” I don’t know about you but I’m ready for a turn around!
The next time you go for a walk around your neighborhood, walk the aisle of the stores, the halls of your work place, wherever you are, lets begin to declare the name of Jesus! A small whisper or a loud shout, whatever you feel led to do, let’s do it! Let’s send this pandemic and everything connected to it, packing!
